Necessaire continues to expand upon their line of cult favorite body care products. In 2024 they released new scents for their body wash and body lotion. Olibanum, Hinoki and Santal have entered the building replacing Sandalwood and Bergamot.

I’ve always been a fan of the body lotion and didn’t mind it being fragrance free. However, the option to have body lotions that compliment the body wash is such a nice treat. I’m sure I’ll try Hinoki and Santal in the future. However, Olibanum and the alignment with vanilla made it a must try.
Let’s get into the details.

Necessaire Olibanum Body Wash and Body Lotion
One of the things I love about Necessaire is the amount of vitamins and clean ingredients. It’s never too much, it’s always things you can name and they do what they say they will do.
Let’s get into the full breakdown of the product. The fragrance, what I think of the updated packaging and sizes offered and how I’m loving their latest additions.
Packaging
Necessaire adding a pump, not only to their larger sized products, but their products in general has been clutch. The use of a pump is luxurious, and you don’t have to worry about using too much. I’ll always love the OG white packaging but the color choice for Olibanum is so pretty.
Fragrance
Necessaire created a signature scent combination for their Olibanum fragrance. The signature scent is pure Essential Olibanum oil with fine fragrance notes of Vanille, Fig Leaf and Cassis Buds. It’s described as sweet and woody and I would agree that is spot on. The body wash and the lotion carry the fragrance notes differently. To me the body wash presents more sweet while the lotion dries down on the more woody side.
Since this is the brands first go at scented lotions, I’m pretty impressed with how long the fragrance stays.
Olibanum Body Wash and Body Lotion
The great thing about Necessaire body wash is the texture is built on glycerin. The light and smooth texture, described as iconic by the brand, doesn’t strip or dry your skin out. All of Necessaire’s products are so thoughtful and well developed so it’s no suprise that the same effort went into their new fragrances.
The body lotion, like their OG fragrance free option, moisturizes right away. The immediate hydration and instant absorption that their lotion offers both body and hand creme is impeccable. To my point about well developed products; Necessaire Olibanum lotion has 5 peptides, Niacinamide, plant oils rich in vitamin C & E and Omegas 6 & 9. No bad ingredients ever.
My Overall Thoughts on Necessaire’s New Drop
I’m like Olibanum. It didn’t disappoint at all. The fragrances they chose, including back when it was sandalwood are so perfect. So light, but still pack a punch. They stick to theme of the clean but also spa like experience that the brand has become famous for. I’m glad I finally got my hands on it.
I hadn’t used the body wash in a while because my husband particularly likes another brand for himself, but it felt so good to use the body wash again. Though their products are perfect year round, my winter skin definitely needed to experience all that Olibanum is.
Another job well done by Necessaire.
