Lifestyle changes come with the ebb and flow of life. It’s great to want to major change in your life; the big picture, the ultimate end goal, but how are we caring for ourselves along the way on the journey? This journey and this year have taught me that the lifestyle is how I’m living on the way to the end goal. We constantly talk to ourselves and say things like “if I only had this, then that would happen and I would feel complete,” the truth is that cycle continues and we are always thinking “if I only had this, then that”.
Instead of living a life that feels like it’s not enough, how about re-learning the basics, the things we have control over everyday, the areas in our life where real lifestyle changes occur. This list is far from exhaustive, but I encourage you to think about who you need to be and become in order to be ready to step into your desired lifestyle. Don’t you want to be healthy enough to enjoy it for a while? Don’t you want to be in an unshakable space mentally so nothing that comes up will cause you to be worried or concerned?
Intentionally seeking lifestyle changes isn’t about stuff. It’s creating an environment where you flourish; that is where the work happens. Lifestyle changes are for the long term. The work we have to do to maintain our mental and physical health has never been a one time thing. It’s a constant doing and learning, daily. Even the Bible tells us to meditate on the Word day and night. You have to take care of yourself. All of that said below are 25 lifestyle changes to improve your mental and physical health.
