6 Ways to Get Noticed by a Brand on Instagram

How do I get noticed by brands on Instagram? The coveted question that everyone who wants to become an influencer has asked. If you are already securing brand collabs and partnerships, you are being noticed by brands; whether or not it’s the brands you may want is a different story. People will reach out because they want to align themselves with you even if you’ve never heard of their brand before.

Everything from hashtags, location tags, story tags, photo tags and quality of content being shared plays a role in you getting noticed. Today I’m sharing 6 Ways to Get Noticed by a Brand on Instagram.

Create Branded Content with Products and Items You Already Use

The easiest way to put yourself out there and get yourself on the radar of a brand is to use what you already have. You’re most likely not going to share something that you hate using, unless you’re letting your audience know why they should not use that brand. What do you have in your stash that you LOVE using? Share that with your audience, share your opinion, TAG the brand, they may want to collaborate with you in the future. It’s also important to tag the brand because if you end up pitching yourself you can show your level of loyalty to them and how much you have shared them with your audience.

The reason why brands are drawn to certain people or certain accounts is because of the way they photograph/share and create content. There is no right or wrong way to create content, but brands want to see if you can be creative with what you are sharing. You know what your audience likes and brands want to tap into what you already do, but with their products at the forefront.

Brands can get an idea of what you can provide/will do for them creatively based on what you post regularly. Creating branded content does not mean pretending that you have a sponsorship. Please do not do that. Be authentic and tell your audience why you love whatever you use.

Engage with your Audience

Sometimes brands just want awareness, but if your audience doesn’t seem too engaged or there is no engagement at all, then that could cause a brand to pass. Engagement is comments, likes, shares, views any type of action taken on your feed/posts.

As someone who has a pretty engaged audience, (thanks ya’ll, you’re the best) my biggest concern is always engagement. Sponsored posts cause me the most angst because I need ya’ll to engage so it’s up to me to create something that causes engagement. I love talking with ya’ll and answering your questions and brands notice that too. It’s not as surface as you may think, brands are doing their due diligence just like we should be.

RESPOND TO YOUR COMMENTS. Even if it’s just to say thank you. Responding makes your engagement go up, I’ve mentioned this before in a previous post. If you don’t engage, don’t expect anything. If you haven’t visited someone’s page in a while, go visit and give them so love.

TAG the brands

If you want to get on a brands radar, tag them. You should be going out of your way to tag as much as possible. There are days where I don’t or days where it isn’t super important to me, especially if it’s a second post of the same thing/outfit, but if you want to get noticed, tag a brand to death. Someone else is doing it, why shouldn’t you?

Engage on the brands social channels. It doesn’t matter how many other comments there are, they like engaged users as well, comment and show the brand some love too.

Use Hashtags

Brands use hashtags to search out and find people. Hashtags are important for any type of added exposure. Make sure you are using hashtags that are specific and don’t have a million plus tags. Also make sure you are switching out your hashtags at least once a quarter if not more. As you grow your brand your hashtags should grow and change with you. I was found via hashtags for the hotel shoot I did a few months ago. Hashtags are super important and definitely help brands find you.

Be Authentic + Flex Your OWN Creative Ability

At the end of the day, whether it is a brand or your audience, people aren’t buying into what you are talking about, they buy into you and as a result of you, buy into what you are talking about or sharing. Brands are paying attention to this. It is important to be yourself and create in a way that FEELS unique and real to you. Stop doing what other people are doing, it holds you up and slows down your progress.

There are a ton of influencers to choose from and brands want to know what makes you special. They want to know why they should choose you to represent their product and brand. I always say it’s not so much what you take a picture of as much as it is how you take a picture of it and make it speak to your brand.

Create Quality Content

Content is king. Period. Brands are looking for content creators. When people mention they love my content, it’s not that I’m doing something super unique or one of kind, the way in which I share it and document it, is what makes it one of a kind. That’s my vibe. You have to find your vibe and once you find it, creating content will feel good and feel exciting.

You are unique and you can build a dope brand that allows you to get noticed by brands. You have what it takes to grow and be seen by your audience. Make sure you subscribe to my newsletter, I’ll be bringing you tips on creating quality content and so much more!
